Yilin Wang is a writer, editor, and content strategist who lives on unceded Musqueam, Sḵwxwú7mesh, and Tsleil-Waututh land (Vancouver, Canada).

Her fiction and poetry have appeared in Ricepaper Magazine, Abyss & Apex, LooseLeaf Magazine, Cerebration Journal, and What If? Magazine as well as the anthology The Best of Abyss & Apex Vol.2. She was a finalist in The Malahat Review’‘s Far Horizons Award for Short Fiction and won What If? Magazine’‘s Joshua Weinzweig Postcard Fiction Contest.

Her non-fiction articles and interviews have appeared in Business Insider, Matador Network, The TyeeRoom Magazine, Asian Traveler Magazine, Canadian Newcomer, Nineteen Questions, and other publications.

Yilin is the Poetry Editor at Ricepaper Magazine and serves on the Editorial Collective of Room Magazine. Her other literary involvement includes working on projects and events with the Surrey International Writer’s Conference, Asian Canadian Writer’s Workshop, Chinese Canadian Writer’s Association, World Poetry Canada, and the BC Association of Travel Writers.

As a part of her Creative Writing MFA at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Yilin is currently working on a fantasy novel inspired by Chinese folklore and a collection of short stories about migration in the Chinese diaspora.
